Atlanta's Snow Jam: Mayor and Govenor in Hot Seat

Atlanta's Mayor, Kasim Reed and Governor, Nathan Deal, clearly had a Failure to Communicate regarding metro Atlanta's recent snow storm that caused an Atlanta Snow Jam for sure!

Atlantans were stranded on Georgia Highways for hours after government and school officials failed to close down the city and state BEFORE the Storm!

Mind you, Atlanta has more than 6 million residents living in the metro area, so,why in the world would  the Mayor, County Commissioners, School Superintendent and Governor think that it would be OK to  have business as usual until the snow start actually falling. Chile Pleeze!  I think Al Roker said it best this morning on the Today Show:

With less than 3 inches of snow falling over the entire metro area, from looking at photos,  it makes you think these people were re-living a scene from "Day After Tomorrow"

Causing over 1,200 traffic accidents, 300 injuries and one fatality, officials said, as traffic backed up on Atlanta highways and held up motorists overnight. In addition, the Superintendent of APS did NOT close schools for the day even though they knew this snow was coming for more than five days, as a result of this action, several hundred students were stuck on school buses or had to spend the night  in  Atlanta schools. 


During a press conference that was most upsetting and just downright embarrassing for both the Mayor, Kasim Reed and the Governor, Nathan Deal as both appeared to be playing the blame game  and dodging reporters questions.  As a result of their botched presentation, people started blasting them on twitter and facebook.

To make matters worse, Mayor Reed joined CNN anchor Carol Costello for a hostile interview in which the mayor repeatedly insisted that “independent” entities were responsible for the lack of preparedness and the outrage aimed at him was misdirected.

“You know how angry people are at you,” Costello asked.

“I don’t feel that people angry at me,” Reed replied.

“There are plenty of people who say the school children should never have been placed in that position,” Costello shot back, “that schools should have been closed before the weather hit.”

“Let me say this: if you’re being fair, you would point out that the Atlanta public school system makes the call on when the system is closed,” Reed replied.

“You ought to be fair with the interview,” he continued. “The Atlanta public school system calls and the school systems independently call when they close.”

Watch May Kasim Reed go on the defense with Carol Costello who was not trying to hear after being stuck herself for several hours.

Bottom line, all Georgia governement officialsl failed to do their jobs in this instance and as a result of their miscommunication, thousands if not millions of people were left stranded.

Thank God for stores such as CVS, Walgreens, Gas Stations and Home Depot that allowed the stranded to bunk in their facilities overnight and throughout the course of the day.

Well, how about I just call him a poor excuse for a husband.

"For years, these award ceremonies have pushed the envelope; Beyoncé’s booty-shaking was certainly no worse than Miley Cyrus’s twerking or any number of other performances by Madonna, for instance. But there’s something particularly icky about doing it while your husband looks on approvingly."

RHOA-Kenya Moore goes in on Apollo and Phaedra Parks

RHOA-Kenya Moore just could not let this moment Pass!

There was some very real drama brewing among the Real Housewives of Atlanta this weekend. Following news that Phaedra Parks's husband, Apollo Nida, was arrested and charged for bank fraud and identity theft on Friday, Parks's RHOA co-star Kenya Moore took to Twitter to blast the couple.

“Losers never win. I have always seen through ppl and I was the first to tell you last season about these ppl and who they really are,” she tweeted on Saturday. Way to kick someone while they're down, Moore.

Parks, for her end, isn't letting a little thing like her husband's indictment interfere with her hustle. The lawyer-turned-reality star was promoting a book signing for her upcoming memoir Southern Belle.

Meanwhile, Nida was released on $25,000 bond and has his first court date on February 12.

Jusitin Bieber May be getting kicked out of US

Justin Bieber may be moving sooner -- and way farther -- than he planned .. because THE WHITE HOUSE will now consider whether Bieber's ass gets deported back to Canada.

The Biebs' lawless streak is now on Pres. Obama's agenda ... 'cause tens of thousands of fed-up Americans have signed an online petition on the OFFICIAL White House website ...demanding Biebs be deported and his green card revoked.

And here's the thing -- the White House has PROMISED to review any petition that gathers more than 100,000 signatures within 30 days ... the Bieber petition already has more than 102K in just 6 days.

The petition calls JB a dangerous and reckless drug abuser who is "not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth."

Here's the thing -- none of Bieber's alleged crimes would get him deported under current immigration law. So this is an extreme long shot at best.

T.I. and his wife Tiny are NOT calling it quits after 3 years of marriage … despite reports to the contrary … the rapper tells TMZ.

Rumors circulated like crazy after T.I. was a no-show at the Grammys and he and Tiny partied separately afterward.

T.I. tells us yeah, there was a big argument, but it was over something pretty stupid. Tiny wanted to walk the Grammy red carpet and watch the show but T.I. wanted none of it. He says they angrily challenged each other on who would end up having more fun that night.

T.I. says the next morning … they mended fences.

Portia Williams do You Really not Know About the Underground Railroad?

Porsha Williams did nothing to silence her critics on the latest episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” when she proved to be confused about a widely-known historical fact.

During a tour of Savannah, GA, the ladies stopped by the first African Baptist church in the nation and were informed that the location was once a stop on the Underground Railroad.

After reminding her co-stars how important Black history is, she made a blunder that Bravo exec Andy Cohen will hopefully ask her about when the reunion show is taped.
